Transplant Caregiver began in September 2022 after Natalie, a former primary caregiver for her mother, saw the need for an online community for transplant caregivers.

The goal of Transplant Caregiver is to provide pre and post transplant resources and support for caregivers of organ, eye and tissue transplant recipients. The site is continuing to grow and resources will be added to help grow and support our community.

Meet the People Behind Transplant Caregiver

Natalie Robinson is originally from Ohio, United States and currently a teacher in Mexico. She was the primary caregiver for her mother, Tammy, who received a double lung transplant in 2016. Natalie is passionate about teaching, anthropology and supporting others.

Tammy Robinson is the woman who inspired Transplant Caregiver. She received a double lung transplant in March 2016 after a fight with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Tammy continues to volunteer within the transplant community as a mentor and inspirational speaker for organizations such as Life Center.

“The caregiver’s role for pre and post transplant is critical. I know this from experience. I had a bi-lateral lung transplant and without the support and commitment of my caregivers, my recovery would not have been possible. My mental and physical recovery were dependent on my caregivers’ care. I am forever grateful for the support and love I received from my caregivers before, during and after, the difficult transition of a lung transplant.” –Tammy Robinson
